March is a time to honor women's resilience, achievements, and contributions throughout history. At Gold Athletics, we take pride in recognizing the incredible women who help shape our company and the broader world of sports. From breaking barriers in athletics to inspiring future generations, the women of Gold Athletics embody dedication, strength, and passion. This Women's History Month, we shine a spotlight on their stories, the athletes who inspire them, and the wisdom they share with their younger selves.

Empowered Women in Sports and Leadership

The women of Gold Athletics come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique experiences to the table. Alexandra Ryan, who has been part of Gold Athletics since 2016, finds inspiration in Serena Williams—an athlete who not only dominated the tennis world but also pioneered change in business and advocacy. Charlotte Simmons, who has been with Gold Athletics since June 2022, looks up to Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon, who fought against gender restrictions and paved the way for female marathon runners. These stories remind us that women's achievements in sports extend far beyond the field; they inspire cultural shifts and challenge societal norms.

Breaking Barriers and Overcoming Challenges

Many of the women at Gold Athletics have been shaped by the determination and grit of female athletes. Brylee Faus, a valued team member for four years, admires Ilona Maher, a USA rugby player who encourages women to embrace their strength and redefine athletic standards. Meanwhile, Kelsey Pilarski, the Social Media Intern for the Spring Semester, and Amanda Delage, who has been with Gold Athletics for just over two years, both look up to Simone Biles—not just for her record-breaking gymnastics career but for her courage in prioritizing mental health and self-worth. These women prove that success isn't just about winning; it's about resilience, confidence, and lifting others along the way.

Words of Wisdom for Future Generations

Looking back on their journeys, the women of Gold Athletics share invaluable advice for their younger selves. Liz Smith, a dedicated member of the team for four and a half years, encourages trusting your instincts and doing what makes you happy. Sara Easterday, who has been with Gold Athletics for three years, emphasizes the importance of perseverance and staying true to one's goals. Lori Butler, who has contributed to Gold Athletics for two and a half years off and on, highlights the need for consistency, advising young women to develop healthy habits and maintain their dedication even in the face of challenges.

Dar Lawson, who has been with Gold Athletics for a year and a half, reminds us to cherish every moment and embrace life's experiences, drawing inspiration from the pioneering women of the 1976 Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Julie Ross, a team member for three years, encourages young women to work hard, have fun, and respect themselves, echoing the dedication and resilience she admires in her daughter’s passion for volleyball.

These reflections serve as a powerful reminder that growth and success come from self-belief, resilience, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities.

Each of these women offers a unique perspective, but their wisdom shares a common thread—trust yourself, embrace challenges, and stay committed to your goals. Whether it’s stepping out of your comfort zone, focusing on positivity, or learning to value your own worth, their advice reinforces the importance of resilience and self-confidence. As they look back, they remind us that personal growth is a journey, and each step—no matter how big or small—contributes to a stronger, more empowered future.

Looking Ahead

Women's History Month is a time to celebrate the past, acknowledge the present, and inspire the future. The incredible women of Gold Athletics, along with the athletes who motivate them, demonstrate the power of perseverance, leadership, and passion. As we continue to support and uplift women in sports and beyond, we recognize that their impact extends far beyond the game. By sharing their stories and advice, we encourage the next generation of female athletes and leaders to keep pushing forward—because their potential is limitless.
