Why Our Fundraising Coaches Choose Gold: The Motivators Behind their Move To Join Gold Athletics Fundraising

When it comes to choosing a company to dedicate your talents and time to, the decision is rarely made lightly. It’s not just about the job; it’s about the people, the culture, and the opportunities for growth. At Gold Athletics, we’re proud to have built a team of passionate fundraising coaches who didn’t just join us by chance—they joined because they found something special here. In this post, we’re diving into the reasons why some of our veteran fundraising coaches, were drawn to Gold Athletics and what keeps them motivated to help teams reach their fundraising goals.

The Power of Teamwork and Support

One of the recurring themes from our veteran fundraising reps is the importance of a strong, supportive team. For Bob White, the team dynamic at Gold Athletics was a game-changer. “What really stood out to me was the team aspect… We don’t do this alone and we can’t do this alone,” Bob shared, reflecting on his decision to join the team. It’s clear that the sense of camaraderie and collaboration is a cornerstone of our culture, and it’s something that resonated deeply with Bob. In fact, he admits, “One of my bigger regrets is that I didn’t come over to Gold Athletics even sooner than I did.”

For Steve Ash, it was the energy and camaraderie that sealed the deal. “There was good energy, camaraderie, and support. That is what I was looking for,” he said. Steve knew that whenever he had a question or needed advice, there would always be someone to turn to. It’s this kind of environment—where knowledge is shared freely and support is always available—that makes Gold Athletics a place where reps can truly thrive.

Efficiency and Innovation

Another factor that drew our reps to Gold Athletics was the efficiency and innovation that our company champions. Sharky, a seasoned rep, highlighted the importance of having a solid support system that allowed him to focus on what he does best: fundraising. “Having a strong backroom like the Merchant team. Signing merchants….That freed us up to have more time,” he explained.

This efficiency isn’t just about saving time; it’s about maximizing impact. “There was great mutual respect and friendship. I know that moving over and working with Matt, I would have support, professionalism,” Sharky added, underscoring the importance of a supportive environment.

Steve Ash also found the incorporation of new technology into our processes to be a significant advantage. “The thing that interested me most was working with Matt Ross and his team. The things that I saw as advantageous, were one, the merchant team. And, two, incorporating some of the new technology like emailing and social media aspects,” Steve shared. By offloading some of the more time-consuming tasks, Steve could focus on what really mattered: connecting with coaches and driving successful youth and high school fundraisers.

Growth and Versatility

Rob L., another valued member of the GA team, was drawn to the growth potential and versatility that Gold Athletics offers. “Camaraderie. To be within the industry where you can bounce ideas off of each other and share experiences,” Rob emphasized. But it wasn’t just the camaraderie that attracted Rob; it was also the opportunity for growth. “From 2022 and 2023, we kept adding products to the GA App, and that is what I was looking for. Growth.”

Rob also appreciated the diverse range of products that Gold Athletics provides, giving him the flexibility to tailor his approach to the unique needs of each group. “I liked the idea of having many different options to sell with groups,” he added. This adaptability is key to helping our reps succeed, and it’s a big part of why they choose to stay with us.
